Overview

Glee helps you find thoughtful gift ideas for the people you care about. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Data We Collect

Profile Data You Provide

When you create a gift recipient profile, you may enter:

• Name
• Age
• Interests and personality traits
• Freeform notes (including voice-dictated text)
• Budget preferences

This data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. It is not uploaded to any server for storage.

Data Sent to Our Server

When you request gift suggestions, the profile data listed above is sent to our backend server hosted on Google Cloud (Firebase Cloud Functions). The server forwards a prompt containing this data to Google’s Gemini AI to generate personalized gift ideas. We do not store, log, or retain any profile data on our servers. It is used only to fulfill your request and is discarded immediately after the response is generated.

Microphone and Speech Recognition

If you choose to use the voice input feature, Glee accesses your device microphone and Apple’s on-device speech recognition to transcribe your spoken notes. Audio data is processed locally by Apple’s Speech framework and is not sent to our servers.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your real name, email address, or contact information.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use analytics or advertising frameworks.
